This paper cutting design is from the collection of The Hans Christian Andersen Museum in Odense, Denmark. It is signed and dated (1870) by the artist. The museum description is:
Trees, swans, angels with umbrella, goblins, ballerinas, stork in a nest (all the stuff of fairytales)!
Although he became famous world wide for his stories, he was also known for carrying around a huge pair of scissors and creating delicate paper cuttings as he told his stories to crowds of parents and their kids. At the end of the story he would unfold these paper cuttings to the delight and amazement of his listeners.
You can order 6 of these in any single color. They are also offered in sets of 6 different colors so guests can instantly know which glass of wine belongs to them. No doubt Hans Christian Andersen never imagined he would be preventing the common cold from being passed along!
